I updated the background on my phone to a moody floral composition to match the vibe of my planner and journal. It isn’t the one you see here, but I like this one a lot, too!

Trying to find the beauty in the day, in all the messy feels I’ve been having, without romanticizing depression (which I may be guilty of from time to time).

According to the weather report on my computer, we’re in the middle of a wintry mix of rain and snow… but I don’t see anything happening outside. Weather forecast for the day on my phone says we’re just expecting a mellow, gray day, no precipitation at all. Yay!

Woke up before the alarm. Danced a bit to something from my One for the Road driving mix, while cookin’ up breakfast.

Just checked my horoscope on Elle’s website. I was inspired by a blog I saw here that suggested checking in on your horoscope to help combat depression by engaging with the weirdness and randomness of the world in a concrete way.

The prognosis for my day is that practicality is key. It’s a can-do, get things done kind of day, with time to relax later. Maybe I’ll be extra productive at work, or even make some more progress at home when I’m done.

I think I slept extra well with all my new CPAP equipment. So thankful I was able to get it yesterday.

Feeling a little uninspired here, but it did seem to help to check in at the start of the day and try to put a positive spin on everything before really digging in. Figured I’d give it another shot.

I guess for the ultimate exercise in trying to reframe my perspective, I will say this: I’m thankful for all the endings, however painful they may have been or can still be to this day, since they’re making room for what is, and what has yet to be.
