We had our first session zero for me to run Auld Sanguine, a free chronicle for Vampire the Masquerade, on Roll20. Given, it’s well after New Year’s Eve, but that’s okay. We can pretend. That’s what roleplay is all about, after all (it takes place on NYE in New York City).
I got the Storyteller’s Toolkit, which seems like it will be incredibly useful!!! There’s loads of handy charts. I also picked up some more D10’s since I don’t have a bunch of them. The photo you see here of the toolkit, I originally posted to Instagram and got a like from the official Vampire the Masquerade account. Thought that was super awesome.
Also made a Pinterest board for the adventure. I’m tweaking the story a bit to make it a little more interesting for me. Definitely have some more work to do on NPC prep, etc., before we finish off character prep next week and have them go on a hunt, prior to the start of the story proper, the week after that. I’m also half asleep, so I’m not sure how much technical stuff I’ll be up to today.
Nonetheless, I had a ton of fun also making a YouTube playlist for the adventure, since one of my players no longer has Spotify, and I don’t know what the other one uses for streaming. One of the songs kinda sticks out to me genre-wise as somewhat out of place, but it’s an ode to one of the NPCs. I feel like it really fits how I plan to play her within the story.
Well, maybe it’s not that out of place after all; I’m listening to the list now, and it does sort of ease into the songs that follow it.
Also, I happened upon an older pic of me that looks super vampy!!! And I took the Vampire the Masquerade personality test to find out which clan I would belong to.

So fun!!!
Very much looking to vamping out this coming Sunday. Mwuahahahahaha. Also super grateful my friends are so patient and understanding with me as we all navigate this new gaming system together. They’re both just amazingly supportive in general. All the way around, this game seems like a great outlet for my creativity. Will be sure to update y’all with how it goes!
