I was perusing older photos of mine, looking for something to add to this post, when I happened upon a note I wrote for GISH 2021 (Greatest International Scavenger Hunt). It was intended first and foremost for my daughter, then secondly, to anyone who needed to hear it, especially people with any mental health issues, like me.

I didn’t have a surge of super power energy yesterday and didn’t get a lot done as far as upkeep of my living space, but I did address a “love letter” to my mom. The act of writing it was a lot. It felt like a great deal of emotional labor went into it. I cried a little about the ending of it.

I’ll write one for my dad at some point, too, but I thought they ought to each have their own. Also, I wasn’t prepared to sift through any more heavy emotions than I already had, yesterday.

Probably going to get a shower in then see what I can get done around here today. Still waiting on the arrival of the two poetry anthologies that recently featured my work. People have been posting their copies on Instagram, so any day now, hopefully? Looking forward to that.

All that said, thank you for reading my post(s). You matter, too. I’m grateful for you.
