I spent a fair amount of time last night and the night before coming up with songs to add to the Spotify playlist we use as our main playlist at work– or the sequel to it, rather. It’s so fun to nerd out over a playlist.

In the middle of all my musical mayhem last night, my back spasm acted up REALLY badly. Like, borderline trip to the ER painful. I was able to take some over the counter pain meds and apply a heating pad and at least make it manageable. It’s still a bit stiff and tender today. I was going to message my daughter and say my back is “tendy” like chicken tendies, which reminded me I have some popcorn chicken in the freezer that I could make up today.

I’m thankful I was able to get by without medical intervention.

Also very grateful for all the little extras about my job that make it that much better, like contributing to the collective playlist.

I had some pretty grand ambitions for today before my back locked up last night. Might have to scale back on anything really active, or at least ease into the day and just go slow.

We’ll see.

It’s been a bit since I did any writing. I may start there. Sometimes that seems to help me get motivated to get other more mundane tasks accomplished. Also still have to wrangle some breakfast. But that can be done. I can heat up some curry or else make up some eggs and sausage.

Do any of you have any suggestions for upbeat work-appropriate songs? Always looking for input. Rediscovered a Plain White T’s song I had forgotten about inspired by Alice in Wonderland, off the Almost Alice soundtrack. The tone is a little melancholic, even if the lyrics aren’t, but we’ll see what everyone else thinks.

We’re all big fans of Sandstorm, so that made it back onto the new list (it was on the old one, too). I considered the theme song to Blade since it feels Sandstorm-adjacent, but it’s like 10 minutes long lol… I’d consider some electronic music that’s a bit shorter though. I did just find something remixed by Armin van Buuren that’s pretty good!

I wanna say there was a fair amount of classic rock on it before I added to it, and some 80’s, a splash of Depeche Mode. I really wanted to add the Open Sea Theme from The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou soundtrack. It’s so fun and silly-sounding! Sadly, it’s no longer listenable on Spotify.

I did however just uncover The Life Aquatic by Moon Boots, which is pretty fun, too. Different vibe but still very cool.

Ready to have a very musical, creative, productive day.

Much love to you all!
