We may be expecting some snow soonish, but today marks the Spring Equinox, and first official day of Spring!!! Much rejoicing in the realm.
I’ve been reading a fair amount of poetry lately. From the library, I have borrowed a MASSIVE collection of poetry by Adrienne Rich, which I just began perusing last night.
I read a couple lines which really struck me last night. “Reality would call us less than friends/ And therefore more adept at making love,” from “The Kursaal At Interlaken.” That observation aligns with many of my past relationships (though I use the “r” word loosely in some cases).
Time will tell if Spring Fever strikes. For now, I’m fairly content keeping myself to myself. I do have plans for this evening, with a friend, however. We’re meeting for a bite to eat and to catch up.
Whatever happens with the weather, I will be thinking SPRING as aggressively as possible, and trying to focus on the positives. Grateful today for the upcoming lengthening of daylight, and for what sunshine comes my way, and the peaceful quiet of the night, for reading and reflection.
