May the 4th be with you!!!
Tomorrow marks Star Wars Day.
If everything goes according to plan, I will actually be at a Mexican restaurant listening to live music in anticipation of Cinco de Mayo, then celebrating a former coworker’s upcoming internship and wrap-up of college, at a Star Wars-flavored cheesesteak restaurant the day after.
However, Revenge of the 5th is also a thing. So, we’re still bringing balance to the force, just like Anakin/Vader ultimately did with his redemption arc. At least, that was the case in my estimation.
I saw an epic lightsaber battle taking place outside in the dark on my way home tonight. For real. A kiddo and a grownup playing Star Wars.
I also saw a baby bun-bun hip-hopping down the curb and up onto someone’s lawn. Aw.
Had some pretty epic dreams last night, though one was maybe a little concerning toward the end? I was at a party, possibly not by choice, and a living bull statue I believe representing a bull god of some kind wanted to sacrifice and eat me. Miming charging at me with his horns. The bull god and someone else were discussing amongst themselves whether or not I volunteered to attend the party, and when I said I hadn’t, that seemed to satisfy them.
The lead-up to the threats from the brass bull was an extended sequence with my two fictional roommates and drama there. I was after the dude, but he was oblivious or disinterested.
After that, I had a Ryan Gosling dream, likely because I watched footage of his SNL appearance with Emily Blunt just before bed. That one was pretty pleasant. *le sigh* LOL
Creative dreams are so much fun, when they’re not also nightmares. Unless you realize you’re dreaming and alter them, which I have done in the past with some success.

I was so far under this morning that it was really hard to wake up and start getting ready. But I did it, and I made it to work on time. HUZZAH! With enough time to spare to text kiddo, etc., in the car before heading in.
The meditation community I had belonged to has disbanded, and the content was taken down. So I couldn’t do one of those meditations before work. But I did close my eyes, I think, and do some breathing, just to prep and get centered.
I will have to start combing YouTube and Instagram for good, short ones. It’s easier to get into the zone when you have a calming voice talking you through your breathing, and maybe music in the background, as well.
I know I can find some good stuff. I’ve used YouTube for 5 minute meditations before.
All in all, a pretty successful day. I’m just a bit tired. But I think I might’ve woken up straight out of REM or something. Felt like it anyway.
Nonetheless, I’m grateful I made it to work with time to spare, and had all in all a pretty good day there. I’m SUPER thankful that I can spend time with my friends over the next 2 days, and get yummy restaurant food. AND I am thankful that MY kiddo called me tonight to chat on her way to Target.
Happy Star Wars Day!
