I started watching Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire AMC series tonight. Yes, I’ve read the books, and I’ve seen the movies. Love the soundtrack to Queen of the Damned. But this one I hadn’t tried yet.
My long-distance bestie just started it, and her descriptions had me intrigued. Though I’ll admit I was already taken in by what a local friend had said about the courtship of Louis and Lestat in the TV series.
Two things struck me:
1)The strange coincidence that it also stars Eric Bogosian, who I had been thinking of the other night, as I reflected back upon my last job, and a regular customer there who I thought resembled Bogosian circa his shock-jock DJ film Talk Radio.
2) The trigger warning at the beginning of the episode, and the PSA at the end. You could argue it’s just a practical business move, but as someone with depression and other mental health concerns, it felt like an honest kindness.
SO… in addition to Bluets and two collections of poetry from the library, I now also have a vampire series to keep me going. And I suppose I should probably break my typical practice and binge, to really get the most bang out of my 7 day free trial… we’ll see if I decide to keep AMC+. I really shouldn’t. But who doesn’t love a vampire romance?
It definitely broke me out of my headspace of “Damn, my weekend off is coming to a close and I did NOTHING FUN!!!”
I did, however, also drive around the city just a teensy bit and look for murals. I didn’t photograph every single one I saw, since I was also the driver, and maneuverability in and out of the car was an issue (and busy streets, etc.). But I will go back and get more shots, fo’ sho.’
As we part ways, and I begin my final wind-down for the night, in preparation for sleep, I leave you with an older photo of myself, from a Vampire Masquerade New Year’s Eve Ball, some years ago. I’m a bit self-conscious of my dimples popping through, and of the lipstick on one of my fangs lol… BUT here it is:

Good night, and fare thee well, until we meet again!
