I like the idea of May Flowers as a metaphor for all the good you reap over time– the rewards to waiting. Not sure if what I’m thankful for today qualifies under that category, but I am supremely thankful for all of the below:

I managed to fuel up my car a bit and head back to the grocery store today. Soda 12 packs are buy two get three free at one of our shops here. Wasn’t prepared to lug around that much soda last time, but this time, I did it! I even found zero sugar Baja Blast. Very excited to see what it tastes like.

And I got some convenience foods for breakfast and lunch to cover me for awhile, as well as a sandwich that I can split up into two separate lunches because it’s so big (and yet still under $6).

AND I discovered Flamin’ Hot Sushi!!! A California Roll, to be precise, coated in Cheetos dust. It was REALLY good! Needless to say, I skipped the Wasabi. It was spicy enough already. AND the sushi came with a coupon for $1 off a Flamin’ Hot snack item. So I am trying some new to me Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. Flavor I never heard of.

Still not living up to the promise I made myself to recreate the internet-famous, edible dino dioramas with the mashed-potatoes-and-gravy-volcano and broccoli trees and dino nuggets, or my dream of making mostaccioli. But I am presently not up to much. So, easy food, it is.

I also spied the flowers you see in the featured image here. Isn’t it a gorgeous bouquet? I didn’t have that kinda money, especially since I was splurging on soda. But I snapped a quick photo to remember it by, and share with y’all.

So… I’m not stocked up on HEALTHY food per se… but I am stocked up on food. Snacks and Uncrustables and Hot Pockets and personal frozen pizzas. And I got ice cream last time. Fear not, however, I do dabble in healthier eating when my family invites me over for dinner. Very thankful for that.

And I’m back on vitamins. So that’s a start. Not to mention the copious amounts of Vitamin C I’m taking in, between Halls Defense and the Celestial Seasonings Vitamin C tea I bought.

AND it’s worth noting that I navigated the store alone today in spite of extreme fatigue and general anxiety. Grocery stores can be rather fraught places for me. NOT TODAY! YEAH! I got into a steady, mindful groove, looking for the few items I had added to my list on the app, then treated myself to some extras, all while staying within budget. And I stopped to admire the floral department.

Here’s to future days of more complex cuisine, while also appreciating the food I picked up today and loving myself enough to enjoy it, and a nod to a friend/former coworker who loves dinos. Be well, my peeps.
