Just thought I would pop in and share that nifty graphic with y’all, and check in a little bit, before I begin to get ready for work. I have a little bit of time to spare.

I’ve been very sleepy this weekend, heavily fatigued, to the point of the occasional eye twitch. But I’m doin’ the things!

Have to remember I have some library books coming due tomorrow. I finished one of them. One more to go. I did read some of it last night. It’s a bit intense. An account of the decline and eventual loss of the poet’s sister. Not really light-hearted, feel-good stuff, but it’s very well-written.

I feel like most poetry grapples with difficult things. And I suppose I, too, am grappling with some difficult things right now. Maybe I should go back to reading romances for a bit?

I haven’t been eating enough vegetables and fresh fruit lately overall, BUT I did treat myself and my mom to Panera the other day since I had a coupon for a free half entree. Had a very delicious salad & got the both of us an apple. I tried some kind of Italian sandwich that was also very tasty. We did splurge a little in sharing a chocolate croissant, but I had water to drink, at least.

Anyway, my mom said they had apples in their fridge yet, and I could take the second one home. Later that day, I picked up just a few groceries, including a chopped salad kit, which I’ll admit I didn’t eat right away. I also got a frozen lasagna since I’d been craving Italian again. And they had Italian style with with Ricotta cheese.

Boy this is getting long-winded. Meant to use fewer words.

MY POINT: Last night, I had Applebee’s leftovers of grilled chicken and garlicky green beans with chopped salad and the last Panera apple, and a Hot Pocket a bit later.

So I’m trying.

The antidepressant I’m going to start on my next day off is supposed to cut appetite. Maybe that will make it easier to make healthy choices?

The day I got my mom one of her fave Panera half salads, I also picked my dad up a huge cupcake at the grocery store. We split it into thirds and all had some, after lighting a candle on top and singing him a (belated) happy birthday.

He was so delighted. I won’t share it here, but I videoed the birthday song and sent it to my daughter. And he blew out the candle and made a wish.

Okay, I may answer the rest of the check-in prompts later. We’ll see. Gotta get moving. Hope you have a good day.
