Good morning! I’m having herbal tea in a moment here, rather than coffee, but I did listen to Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso,” in case that makes the graphic feel more authentic.
From that to some Type O Negative.
Anyway, the idea of this post: it’s kind of an emotional/psychological Get Ready With Me.
I’ve crossed off almost all of my morning stuff in the Finch app for self-care. Just have to finish getting ready for work. Though I might also clean up after the cat a bit before I head out. Which I would do first.
Kiddo sent me a Snapchat of the homemade banana bread she made late last night. It looked delicious. More than anything, though, it made me miss her, and her nurturing nature.
I wouldn’t want her to move back in just so I could get banana bread, mind you. I know she’s happy living her life– as happy as one can be while searching for work and coping with various challenges. But she seemed to have had a pretty great weekend visiting her boyfriend’s dad and stepmom and step-brother.
It’s just harder for me to self-start without a little encouragement boost from someone or other. But I did get a “Good Morning” in the Finch app from the friend who started using it just because I told her about it. She’s such a good sport, hopping onboard most if not all of my passing fixations LOL.
SO… I’m writing this to get my mind in motion and try to rev myself up for the rest of my day. And maybe nurture myself some.

GRATITUDE LIST FOR TODAY:
- My “Good Morning” message from Christine.
- I managed my back pain okay last night, and it felt mostly alright this morning (yay!!!). Maybe it helped that I did some of the doctor-recommended “hula hoop” motions at work to keep the muscles from locking up in one position?
- Got garbage out last night (double yay!!!). Still have the “baby garbages” and recycling, but we’ll get there.
- Did I ever mention here that my next door neighbor gave me some baby plants that she propagated from two of hers? My little plant kingdom always makes me smile.
- I saw my DBT workbook last night, when I was about to do some journaling and coloring. It was the perfect reminder that I had homework from my therapist: to look it over and do some exercises. So I did a bit of that first. Added it to Finch as a daily To Do. Will be talking to her (therapist) tomorrow.
- A couple of days off after tonight. Woooooo!!!
- OH I discovered some kind of coffee shop/cafe type place on my way home last night, that I hadn’t ever noticed before. Might be worth checking out. Something to anticipate.
