Had a rollercoaster of a day!

Believe it or not, I have since made TWO more iterations of the spicy Lost Boys memes collage. What I believe will at last be the FINAL one, I put on Threads. I’m also Mizzieshizznell there and on Instagram, for the curious. I dabbled with it last night for World Goth Day but didn’t see until I was done that the poster image I had put at the bottom would have only “The” from the title showing, because of the shortcuts and whatnot banner at the bottom of my screen.

I was going to let that go, but I had some time to kill today, for various reasons. Could’ve gotten some business taken care of, but I had no idea when I would be interrupted and have to leave. So I was scared to get tied up in important phone calls, in case I would have to hang up.

Since I was starting over from scratch ANYWAY… I pulled up Pinterest again and tracked down the memes one more time, and the wallpapers, and found some new ones, too. This time, I was more careful with how I took the screenshots, and managed to get rid of the icons in the corners. The ones you use to save each pin, and such. Made it much easier to work with each image.

I was VERY careful to re-examine today’s results before I finalized the collage in Picasa but STILL missed something. There’s a meme where David is captioned as saying, “I think I’m falling for you.” Michael’s reply “Get up” was cut off by something layered on top of it toward the bottom. But then again, I feel like Michael rejecting David isn’t really in the spirit of Wishful Sinful and so on. My “Michael” doesn’t put up much of a fight.

So, I THINK I am content. I am hanging onto every version and saved a different one as my new lockscreen, and today’s, as my wallpaper.

For whatever reason (maybe updates?), I can’t just right-click and scroll down to “set as desktop wallpaper” anymore. I can, but it doesn’t do anything. I only noticed that today, I think. Had to go through “Settings.” I had to Google doing all of that, since I’ve been used to the shortcut route for so long. Felt a little old doing that.

Still haven’t made up the taco mixture yet. Trying to gear up to it. Caffeinating and blogging, and listening to my sugar/honey/chocolate/sweet things playlist. Started out with Sleep Token’s “Sugar,” since kiddo said maybe Vessel would give me strength to make tacos.

I really adore that song, even if he didn’t write it.

The photo accompanying this post is a collage I made from Pexels found images related to Pantone’s 2025 Color of the Year, Mocha Mousse. At first, I was surfing for something fresh with the keyword “sugar” then happened to remember that collage. Felt like an appropriate choice. Lots of sugary treats in it, and also some things that just fit the color scheme. Pexels even has a collection entitled Mocha Mousse because of Pantone.

I’ll have to clean off the cutting board. I left it on the counter, and the cat decided it looked comfortable, at one point. Yuckies! But it would be nice to have taco stuff prepped and waiting. And I am just barely beginning to feel slightly hungry. I did have breakfast and a late second meal. I dunno. Been mostly eating only twice a day lately, especially on days I work. Yesterday was an exception.

Ooooh some Elvis.

Followed by somethin’ bluesy. Mance Lipscomb’s “Sugar Babe.”

It’s a very mixed playlist, but a fun one.

Might go back to Sleep Token or skip ahead to “Caramel,” of theirs, which is also on this playlist.

I always make these mile-long playlists and separate songs by the same artist so I can listen to the list in order and not kill the vibe. Start at the beginning and spend a few days going through it. But somehow, it seems like I don’t always make it to the end, so I’m much more familiar with the front end of each list.

Just queued back to song two. Sleep Token’s number one.

The rollercoaster… there were MANY many delays, including some confusion about where the secondary location of the dealership was. The one that has the bigger lot. But ultimately, we made it to where my car was.

It still needs to be insured, so Jerry’s parked for the time being.

But I filled him up with gas, and set the time and date, and figured out how to connect my phone for Bluetooth calls and called my daughter with the car. And then, we spent AGES puzzling out how to connect Spotify.

Turns out my precise model of car can’t do it with Bluetooth.

HOWEVER, there is a work-around. It took me FOREVER to figure out where the AUX and USB jacks were hiding. In the armrest, apparently. But using an iPhone-to-USB cord, I plugged in my phone and discovered merrily that I can listen to Spotify and charge my phone simultaneously!

AND, just like when I booted up my fave alternative station on FM radio, the screen displayed the artist name and song title. I may even have some options for configuring how the songs play, using the car directly, rather than messing with my phone. Gotta look into that. It reads Spotify on an iPhone as an iPod connection.

All of that is thanks not only to my own much-frustrated efforts, but also to kiddo’s deep-dive into content posted by car dealers over ten years ago (the car is 11 years old). She’s a good kid to have. I told her as much. She agreed. But she really is. No regrets.

My first listen in Jerry was NIN’s cover of Joy Division’s “Dead Souls,” from the soundtrack to The Crow, from my Dark Artistry playlist.

BUT YAY!!! I will soon be back on the road furreals, not just to get to the gas station, and home.

Mkay I indulged in music and a Zero Sugar Wild Cherry & Cream Pepsi. Don’t think I can put it off much longer. I also work in the morning, but that’s HOURS away. If I put in the effort tonight, however, I can have tacos for breakfast. And them avocados be waitin.

Wish me luck, and happy avocados, that waited for me patiently.
