Headache brewing. Maybe I just need more to eat. Something solid. BUT, I have a delightful experience to share, before I go about fixing that!

When I got to the store, and even on the drive there, I found myself pointing out silently to MYSELF where I saw yellow. Wildflowers on the side of the road. Planted yellow flowers along the front of the grocery store (buttercups? tulips? I wish I had taken a closer look). Yellow on price signs everywhere there was an in-store special. Mustard. And so on. And every time I noticed MOAR yellow, I felt a little more joy.

When I turned a corner, heading toward hamburger buns, I saw that display of balloons and flowers, and just HAD to get a photo. Isn’t it adorable?

Also, the zero sugar soda gods smiled upon me today. They still had a LOT of flavors of Dr. Pepper available in 12-packs. I got one of the Cream Soda ones, a Strawberries and Cream, Cherry, and Blackberry. And then a Wild Cherry and Cream Pepsi. Sometimes when the 12-pack sales are that phenomenal, they run out of the more interesting zero sugar varieties before I make it to the store. NOT SO TODAY!

I also saved almost $47, between the 3 free 12-packs, and other specials. And I only went over budget by 16 cents, even with adding on one of those packs with burger extras (red onion and tomato slices, and lettuce), and a thing of Tajin, for the jicama I picked up.

I got six frozen burger patties with black pepper and bleu cheese in them, sesame hamburger buns, the hamburger extras, the jicama and Tajin, sweet butter lettuce, fresh spinach, a BIIIIG bag of Washington cherries, a pound of bacon, a dozen eggs, a Red Baron 4-Meat pizza, and the 5 12-packs, for just over $70.

I can fit three of the burger patties in my skillets. You can cook them immediately from frozen. So I can make up three and refrigerate two, and keep the rest still frozen, for later into the week. That’s 6 meals right there.

May take ‘er easy on myself and make up the pizza for tonight, with some of the lettuce over the top, after it’s baked, so you get a salad bite and pizza bite all in one. It’s really good with meatier pizzas. Balanced.

Chillin the Pepsi now. And myself. Actually, my headache started to taper off, after just having some long sips of ice water. I had eaten some cherries just before that, but am I just a little dehydrated?! Maybe. Had two cups of tea before heading out today, and not a lot of straight-up water.

Trying to put off heating up the stove for the pizza, until the soda would be cold, because I decided against buying a bonus 20 ounce bottle for right away. And I didn’t get any Starbucks.

OH HEY WOW I just noticed I have over $12 left on one of my Starbucks digital gift cards.

Pharmacy also just reminded me I have meds to pick up. Hm. Not as exciting. But necessary.

Fast forward to me returning home:

Turns out I had enough to get a Fireworks Frapp for both myself and my mom, since she gets hers smaller. I picked her up, we got our drinks, then we cruised to the pharmacy. Stopped back at their house, petted Happy a bit, and came home.

Headache keeps reappearing. Atmospheric pressure? Possible storm brewing.

Didn’t get a photo of the drinks because we were on the road when they were fresh, and by the time we’d stopped, hers was gone, and mine (partially enjoyed) wasn’t pretty LOL. BUT it was super tasty! Red, white, and blue.

I found a pretty pizza-with-a-salad vibe. Mine is not this fancy. But here’s the general concept:

I certainly *AM* thankful I can get my meds, at all. I just sometimes wish it were easier.

I have a lot of luxuries in my life, and plenty to be thankful for.

Like kiddo’s upcoming visit. That’s high on the list. And today’s Frapps, which were in a way “free,” since I had the money waiting on the gift card, from the last time I loaded it.

And saving so much on groceries. AND I had coupons waiting for me in the mail. I think one of them might have saved me extra on bacon, but the rest were all for things I didn’t buy today. Good until sometime in August. One was even for a free jar of peanut butter.

And the fancy stuff coming by mail, expected early next week. I showed my dad a photo of the cat tree today. He seemed VERRRRY skeptical that I would be able to put it together, but thought Unity would really love it. I guess we will just have to see!

She has a couple of those cardboard cat scratcher things, one of which she can go inside of, but they have seen better days. It’ll be good to give her something sturdier to play with, and sharpen her claws on.

My mom really enjoys reading off the name of the song that’s booted up on one of my playlists, when we ride around in my car. Sometimes, it doesn’t update when the song changes, as was the case today, possibly because I ducked in and out of the Spotify app, but without actually closing it? Usually, it works pretty well.

Anyway, I was telling her she has Spotify on her phone, too, the free version, because I had set it up for her. “You mean I could get this in my car?” I told her yes, that I had saved some Elvis songs for her, and we could look up the Lou Reed song she’d said reminded her of my dad, when she’d used my car for something or other, or I had left a CD in theirs. Something like that. “Pale Blue Eyes.”

Kiddo and I will have fun streaming music when we drift around through town! She generally prefers to put on one of *HER* playlists, but luckily, she has pretty good taste.

Alright. I guess that is all the vamping up I can justify. We’ll see what I can do here!

Here’s a fun bit of inspiration! And, more yellow, to boot! Have a lovely night.
