I did wind up calling CVS before heading out, just to give them more time to get the message and work on the prescription, if they had it in stock.

Was feeling pretty good when I left, so I started my travels at Bath and Body Works. They have Halloween and fall stuff out already. Eventually, I do intend to pick up the witch’s cottage or haunted house or what have you, Wallflower plug that projects skulls and bones on the wall behind it, like my Emily in Paris one does with the Eiffel Tower and hearts.

BUT… today, I learned you can combine offers in your app, AND also use them on TOP of in-store and online deals. I had a one free full size body care item, and a 20% off entire purchase, in offers. Mixed and matched that with full size body care items Buy 3 get 1 free. So, two items free, and the rest, 20% off. It was still a little bit of a splurge, but I felt in need of a pick-me-up after yesterday.

Then, I went to the library. Dropped off the book I did, indeed, finish reading last night, and turned in my postcard in support of continued funding for libraries. And I wandered the stacks. Eventually discovered a novel called Pizza Girl. About a pregnant 18-year-old in Los Angeles, working at a pizza place, who develops a bond with a stay-at-home mom who regularly orders pizzas with pickles for her son.

I think it was at that point, post-library, that I discovered CVS had left me a voicemail stating my meds were ready, and they were open until 7. I still needed groceries, and figured I could just use the pharmacy drive thru pretty quickly. So, I headed to the store.

They had the tastiest trail mix samples. I could have bought some, off their display, but the sample made for a nice snack, while I was shopping.

Stuck to my list pretty faithfully, but changed which brand of frozen pizza I was getting, since my coupon made the one a lower price than the other, even after the in-store special.

Saved over $30.

And the pitcher I wanted for sweet tea? IT COMES IN PURPLE!!!

I was skeptical about fitting a gallon pitcher into my fridge, once I saw it, but managed it on the top shelf of the door. Still have to make the tea. Just wanted to test out the fit of the pitcher, first.

Even better, I checked my receipt and discovered my total savings this year alone is already over $500. AND I ran into a friend I had known in my undergrad days, who works at that location. He was off-duty, picking up some things for himself. We talked, and he asked what I’ve been up to lately, and about my daughter. He’d said she must have finished college by now, then seemed rather surprised when I said she didn’t do college.

BUT it is her life to live, not mine, and I support her.

She hasn’t entirely ruled it out, but she only has so much energy, and a lot of financial burdens to carry. I help as I can, as do my parents. And her boyfriend’s mom helped them a lot; his stepdad gave them their truck. I think his dad pays the insurance on it.

I just wish her life was a little easier, especially factoring in her fibromyalgia, and all the health concerns of their cat, who requires specialized food and medicine.

BUT… on Thursday of this week, she should be receiving the Sleep Token shirts I ordered for her.

And then this fall, she’ll ACTUALLY BE HERE!!!

I can’t wait.

Oh, and I did get to the pharmacy. Meds acquired, stress released.

I should start on dinner and/or make some progress around here, but before I do, here are some more photo op pics my friend took of me, at Paranormal Cirque.
