Looks like this may be the one place I FORGOT to share my big announcement.
A women’s press out of Chicago has accepted a short collection of my poetry (chapbook length) for publication. I’m just waiting on further communication with the agreement, and discussion of cover art options, etc. If we keep the title I’d selected, it will be No Place in This World, with themes relating both to the otherworldly, and a sense of feeling out of place, or disconnected.
But a couple pieces have some lighter bits. One is honestly kinda funny.
The one that immortalizes a conversation I had with long-distance-bestie, which inspired me to buy a Velvet Underground & Nico t-shirt with the iconic Andy Warhol banana cover art.

I had a good feeling about them. I doubted at times, but at the outset, I had a good feeling.
It took me a few tries to get something together and sent within their seasonal reading window, but I finally did it, and sent something off this past summer. Hadn’t heard back since then, up until a couple days ago, I think?
And even if you’re not supposed to put all your eggs in one basket, as they say, I didn’t submit anywhere else and began just focusing on my self-published vampire romance series.
The instructor of the two-session memoir class also said she’d have more avenues for us to explore, in education related to writing. I already know about the courses offered online through the library system. Was thinking about trying those. Probably mentioned that somewhere already.
We have a little bit of homework for next week, which I haven’t started yet.
But I will.
Trying to celebrate the small wins, as they come.
I feel like this will be a really nice publishing credit to be able to add to my bios!!!
Well, good things in the works!
And I can keep writing, and keep submitting, as I’m able, and reinvest time and energy in my creative side, generally. All good things to do. And the vampires will persist, right along with me.
