How do I use social media? For serotonin and promotion.
Many, many years ago, when kiddo was still young and I was younger, I made several long-distance friends on a social network site made by and for peeps who attend Burning Man, primarily. I’ve never been to Burning Man, but I hear it’s amazing. One thousand pardons if I’ve shared this bit of exposition before. I’m not sure if I mentioned it here, or not.
I’m still loosely in touch with most of them. One is my long-distance best friend. We share memes and life updates pretty much every day. I love combing Instagram searching for things that might make her laugh.
I also send content to my daughter, and other assorted cohorts of mine.
And I enjoy posting, though I’ve edged more into Instagram as opposed to Facebook. Owned by the same parent company, I know. It’s more of a personal preference.
AND when I’m not just sharing about this or that latest thing that made me smile, I use social media to let people know when I have a book in the works, or some art featured somewhere. Like the art show that’s happening THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW!!! EEEEP!!!
And sometimes I share writing or art for free, just for feedback, and good vibes.
In essence, it’s about self-expression, and looking for things to appreciate and potentially share. After all, I have a gratitude blog to update, right?
And the occasional shameless eye candy. As you do. 😉
EDIT: I spent a literal hour scouring my content for this photo of me. It’s older, but I feel it epitomizes serotonin. I also LOVE to laugh and do it very often, which you wouldn’t guess from my selfies. And I love finding laugh-worthy posts and reels to share.
Rock your day, and your weekend. I will let y’all know how the art show goes. I can’t freaking wait!!! Two more sleeps. Then, the hour will soon be nigh!!!
Peace!!!
